Hi Rod, two puppies at the same time can be quite challenging. You might find it helpful to join our facebook support group. It’s called Dogsnet Training & Support

But I have had other dogs so I know that time and patince will be a test of all time. I got two so they would feel whole as they were born together.

Her health is still very good. My son wants to get a beagle puppy. Is that ok or will it be too much stress for my older beagle? How about a cat? Thanks.

Greg

my main concern is how much quantity should i be feeding him per meal?
i’m worried that i may be over feeding him.

Hi Tammy, It’s normal for puppies to be playful and chew. I’m not sure what you mean by ‘gets a bad attitude’, but puppies can sometimes appear to be aggressive when they are just exhibiting normal playing behavior. You can find out more here: https://thehappypuppysite.com/aggressive-puppy/

He is sweet natured and loving most of the time, but when it comes to playing, he gets hyper. He also loves to chew on blankets, towels, rugs, and pillows and gets a bad attitude when we take them away. Will he grow out of this attitude and aggressiveness? He and our older dog now get along well and play together. This helps with letting that pent up energy out. Another thing, when we feed him, he seems to suck up the food whole. Do they normally eat this fast? We feed him 2/3 cup of dry twice a day and a few treats in the evening. Is this enough? This is what the breeder recommended. Our puppy is 11 weeks old.

Joanne,

It sounds like your pup has pent up energy. You are correct in thinking that taking him for walks will help. I would also suggest scheduling regular play time to help tire him out.

Beagle puppies are prone to being a bit hyper, and they DO grow out of it – usually by the 12-18 month mark.
