I wonder if a crossbreeding between, say, the long lived Kelpie and the Bordeaux would improve the Dogue’s health and longevity?

I have a red labrottie. She has fur like a long haired lab, but has the markings of a Rottweiler, in red/tan though.

I have a red Australian Kelpie. An amazing dog! Very quirky, although he does have quite a few behavioral issues. Due entirely to being a rescue dog that I believe originally came from a puppy mill. (He left mom at 5 weeks old).
Incredibly beautiful, I get compliments for him from passersby even while he is lunging at them! By working constantly with him the lunging as improved but it will be a lifetime of training. Like all herding and watch dogs, early socialization was essential and unfortunately I got him once that time was past. The fact that I would definitely get another one despite that is a testament to the intelligence, beauty and loyalty of the Australian Kelpie.
