And sometimes he even takes our shoes to his place and then starts to growl if we try to take them away. Perhaps someone had a similar situation? Will training with a professional dog handler help? I would be grateful for your answer and help in this matter.

I’m planning to hire a certified dog training service soon because it’s hard to keep my dog off my couch and make her stay on her own bed. Hopefully the trainer would not make her overly submissive because I don’t want my dog to necessarily fear me.

Is this considered force holding or force training ?

How do you train a puppy to get used to vets , groomers or other strangers holding or hugging them ?

I dont punish them as I need to is that the problem?

Except in biting when excited or bored. I understand that I should give him one of his toys (which he drops to carry on biting) or to push him down with no comment or eye contact, again he will still try and bite. We try to play with him/train him/interact with him to stop him getting bored, but sometimes you just need him to sit for a minute without something in his mouth. I know he is still young, but when will we see just a little improvement? Are we doing something wrong?
