My first female husky was named Xena, the Warrior Princess. Great name for her. Her red daughter is Scarlet, and silver son is Bear. My fourth female is Kayla.

I’m tearing up. I lost Sasha at 6 and she was the smartest and most loving wolf hybrid in the world. She even adopted two kittens that my daughter brought home as her babies. I have a great picture of Sasha’s first adopted baby sleeping on top of her big “mommy”.

We had a female that I named Kiska after the Aleutian island. How about Attu for a male?

Our Sasha was the runt of her litter. My wife and daughter picked her. She was the best dog I ever owned. Unfortunately she had lots of physical problems that caused her to be the runt and they eventually took her from us at 6 years old. We replaced her with Kiska, who was a more typical Husky, cross bred with a cyclone. She was a daily trial but she was fun. She lived for 14.5 years.

So many Huskies wind up in rescues. People don’t “get” them and become disappointed in them. They aren’t good guard dogs no matter how menacing they look, they aren’t hunters, they aren’t shepherds. They’re just really beautiful dogs. My last one, Kiska, was bi-eyed.

My Husky/Gray Wolf mix, Kiska, was only willing to perform commands if I had a dog cookie. Otherwise she was her own person. My wife was very slender and Kiska would drag her around on walks. I’m a little more substantial (6’1″, 250 lbs) and she would try to pull me too. Everybody loved her though. I miss her very much.

My two hybrid wolf girls were Sasha who was 85% wolf and the best girl ever. She only lived for 6 years. She had been the runt of the litter and had lots of health issues but she had a totally loving heart.
The last one was Kiska, named after the Aleutian Island. She was 50/50 wolf and Husky. She was a self directed girl. Had the Husky head. A little stubborn at times. We had her for 14.5 years.
They were both very smart. Sasha was willing and Kiska wasn’t always.

Sounds like they’re Huskies alright. 🙂
