We found a stray pit/beagle mix, and we are looking for her owners. In the meantime we are looking for anything we can read about them in case she becomes a part of our ‘pack’.
She has gray hair on her mouth, and has clearly had puppies in the past. She is very sweet, and so far, gets along with our other dogs. Even plays well with them. She is a cuddle-bug, but she does whine a lot, and hates being alone. Before we got to know her we kept her in a fenced area by herself and she was pitiful!! Whining and howling.
She sometimes goes to a door and whines, even after she has been outside to potty, and it makes us wonder if she is missing her family or if she just wants to get out and roam the world.
We have a large fenced yard, so only let our dogs out that door, but she wants to go out the other doors a lot as well.
All of this has transpired during the holiday while we have been home, so we worry about what to do with her when we all go back to work and school next week.
Any and all advice is welcome.
