My puppy is home now for a week & Shes totally settled already!!
She is a 9 week old Cavapoo .
I’m worried as she’s started really chewing her paws. (Just past 2-3 days.
Are there any products that I can apply to her paws to put her off this ?? I really don’t want it to become a habit , as my Sisters Frenchy did the same & she chewed her paws until they were raw – Please what can I do ??

I chased paw licking and chewing for years with three different vets and spent thousands of dollars on it. It was intermittent and seems to come in “waves” and would improve then get worse and I could not figure it out. One day it occurred to me it might be a fungus thing, I ordered Malaseb on line (now you need a vets prescription for it) and after two foot shampoos two days apart it was under control. Now I keep Malaseb on hand at all times and when I notice too much attention to the feet (or lower limbs around the paw) or if I’ve been letting her play with water alot, which she loves, I do two to three consecutive foot baths with Malaseb and it solves the problem.

I have a 13-year-old Shih Tzu Yorkey and she’s biting her nails for a long time she’s been to three different pets and they never do anything to help me here’s a bed now she’s DEF and I have one pup Which licks and digs at her paws and ears as well the vet wants to do an operation which she done last year and it did nothing to her it’s beginning to run me into a lot of money she gave me cream but the dogs lick each other off I’m guessing you like the taste of it now I will have to start planning my own treatments just let you know all of that does it cost you a lot of money.

my dog has eaten his toes off he will not stop I have spent thousands of dollars to help him 3 vets and no one can tell me what’s wrong with my dog he had his toes amputated a month ago finally got him into a soft cast and tonight he was able to get to that reconstructed paw that had a boot on it and he had a cone on he was determined to get that paw I am at a loss right now I don’t know what to do anymore.

I have a black lab who, at three and a half years, had what we think was a stroke. After a couple years of rehab she still has problems with her right side. Occasionally, I guess her nerves bother her and start tingling or burning in her front right foot. We keep a baby sock on her right foot to discourage her from licking and chewing and prevent injury from dragging. Occasionally she’ll chew through the socks and into the top of her foot down to the bone before we catch her. I don’t know of anything that will cover the top of her foot to prevent her from chewing. If anyone has suggestions, please let me know. We use a brace but that is harmful to her foot as the pads cant breathe and it jams her toenails into the brace. (Her foot doesn’t bend forward)

My dog within the last couple months started chewing and licking her back right paw. She also few months back got a yeast infection in her ears due to a beef allergy. I’m wondering if this beef allergy is to blame for her biting her paw and licking constantly. Please advise me on what to do. Thank You

In reply to Vanessa. I would definitely take him to your vet. If hes chewing the pad that much something is very wrong. It's very frustrating because they can't tell us what is wrong. It could be many things like allergies, pain, etc. I hope you can get to the bottom of his problem. Wishing you both all the best.

My nearly 16 year old toy Poodle has recently started chewing his left front paw actually biting off some pad. He is an anxious dog who has only been living with us for 14 months. I have been using some Hemp Seed Oil but looking at his paw tonight, it’s not making any difference.
