This puppy is a sweetheart and I am reading up on the breed to find her the best home as my Mom wants to make sure it’s a good home. Any ideas of a good rescue organization that specializes in adopting out beagles? We just had her fixed so we are not worried about her being bred.

I can’t imagine. I just got my first dog at 54. And I’m already thinking about this day. I’m so for your loss. So very sorry.

I’m sure she will make a wonderful therapy dog. When I first got my sweet Jewel at 3 months old, I immediately started training her to be my service dog. I have MS, and back then I walked with a cane. I taught her to walk at my left side in such a way that she provided a counter-balance so I could walk more securely with the cane on my right side. Thanks to her, I delayed having to use a walker by about 7 years. When she knew she was working, she carried herself with an extra air of pride. She was an amazing dog.

I’m so thankful that she went very peacefully. She was diagnosed with a heart murmur at the end of April, but showed no symptoms. At the end of July, she got very sick very quickly. Her vet diagnosed her with heart disease. She had an enlarged heart and fluid around her lungs. He gave her 3 prescriptions, plus drained fluid out of her belly about a week later. Alas, the fluid built up again, and the vet concurred that the cords around her heart which help to control the heart valves, had burst. There was no cure for her, so we loved her until the very end and had her put to sleep. Everyone who met her said she was the sweetest dog ever. I miss her tremendously, but am glad she’s no longer on this earth struggling to breathe. JEWEL 11/14/2008-8/17/2022

After I got married and out of showing dogs. My husband decided to rescue dogs. I Long for a beagle. After two years without a dog, we adopted a blue tick beagle and she is beautiful. She was badly abused from her previous owner and was so afraid among people. We brought her home and worked with her and she is such joy. We are now training her to be a therapy dog. We get a lot of compliments on her markings and she loves to cuddle.

I was alittle upset, because iI already had 2 dogs and 2 cats. Well, it didn’t take long for him to steal my heart. We named him Milo. I don’t know much about breads of dogs, I just thought he was a beagle, until my neighbor seen him running the cul de sac (he snuck under the fence, that is now fixed) and said he is blue tick hound. I immediately did a search on his breed. Yep! He loves my little morkie. They play all the time. He is a quiet dog, he doesn’t bark much, when we first heard his bark, we all busted out laughing, it was so funny coming out of this thick little dog. He is part of the family with his yellow/tan eyes. Melts our hearts. I wish I could post his picture, ya’ll would love him!
