What do you recommend for a 1 year old Germans Shepard and a 8 year old Shepard both have stomach issues one is vomiting some but he eats everything outside. Both having issues with diaheraa. The 8 year old wants to eat poop. I have them on now the inukshuk 26 16 but I think it may be to rich for them. I was thinking of the royal canin for Shepards digestive one.

In reply to Robin. My pup is on RC GSD Puppy, has loose stool and itches. As much as I LOVE RC, their food is NOT the answer in all cases.

Gastrointestinal Biome is the best dry food for senior GSD with stomach issues!!!
Expensive but fantastic!!!!
You will need prescription from your Vet.

My GS I feel has been so high maintenance. From the beginning as a puppy with regurgitating undigested food (I believe to be an enlarged esophageal) to the diarrhea and itching. I FINALLY found a dog food from HEB that does not cause her to have diarrhea!! And let me tell you how fortunate this is, because I have two small children! The brand and type is Heritage Farm’s Salmon and Chickpea formula. I want to point out HOW sensitive is, because I thought maybe I’d try her with the Beef and Chickpea… Nope… She went right back to the runs 🙁 Heritage Farms Salmon and Chickpea has been the only thing she can tolerate thus far.

In reply to Julie. No, put them on Royal Canin's GSD formula immediately and you will see all of this go away. The major problem is that they aren't getting any grain and that is required for their coats.

In reply to Sharon. My GS was/is the same! I have him on 4Health and my vet suggested olive oil or fish oil for the itching. The fish oilHas helped a lot!! Still itches but not as much or as often. Olive oil didnt do as well as the fish oil. I get that at Walmart Spring valley brand Omega-3. 1,040 mg.

My 20 month old gas has had soft stool and severe itching. My vet has suggested several things, 1st tried Royal Canin for gsd’s Stopped soft stool for the most part about 95%, did nothing for the itching, twice a day apoquel for itching did not stop the itching , tried Hydrolyzed dog food did not stop itching and really does. It give her soft stool. Any suggestions for the itching and soft stool?
