My golden, AbbeyRoad, is now age 12, & has been professionally groomed since a pup. She has had 2 hind surgeries & slowed down quite a bit. Last groomers said she was impossible to groom because she would only sit down so they could not get the underside of her. I was disappointed in that fact but overall they did a terrible job of grooming everywhere else. I bought my own clippers & scissors to try myself & have been reading tips but still unsure how to get to her underside unless I can do it while she is laying down. She is brushed every day and I use the special tool for the undercoat. What should I do?

I have a question why would my red Golden have fluffy hair down shoulders and back legs instead of long sleek hair. I groom him at least 3 times a week and he is on a diet so he doesn’t gain any weight but his hair seems to look like a red golden with fuzzy gold hair.
