My question: How soon/when can I remove the clicker?

I love all of your training lessons and they are working well with my six month old mixed breed (and teaching me that I need to go slower and more methodically!)

I remember teaching my dog, Henry this quickly in one of his classes. However, I have not re-enforced it and so we’ve both forgotten it over the years. I’ll have to bring it back into our routine. Thanks for the reminder.

I’m sharing this with my dog friends. 😊💖🐶

Just now trying to use all your recommendations (and Sarah’s) to respond appropriately to too much biting/snarling.
Given that hands are one of Caleb’s targets, should I put off hand touch training until we get the biting under control?

We have a 10wk old lab who is currently lapping up the training. We were playing with a ball which she (unusually) brought back to me, I opened my hand and she dropped it straight in there, which I am guessing she did because she linked it to this touch training (which she had just done).

Hi Alice, you can start withholding the c&t for a few seconds and see if the dog will offer a longer bump or a double bump, you can then start selecting for double bumps that are closer together until the dog doesn’t even remove his nose between the two bumps. Then gradually start shaping for longer and longer bumps. It is easier to do than it sounds written down! 🙂 Join the forum if you’d like help and support http://thelabradorforum.com
