I’m not sure that many stores would let you put a whistle in your mouth, as that might put others off buying one. They gundog whistles I recommend are not too expensive – but if you have a friend with a whistle that your dog can hear, that might be the way to go.

Can I test the whistles at the store to see which one my dog responds to? Are hearing impaired dogs like people that might be able to hear different tones?
